Our minimum requirements for drivers include, but are not
limited to:
- Must be a least 23 years of age.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years OTR driving experience (although a
limited number of recent graduates with a valid CDL license may be
accepted as trainers are available).
- Must have a good MVR (no chargeable accidents involving a
fatality; no citations for DUI/DWI, reckless driving, unsafe
driving, running a stop light or sign; no previous suspensions or
warnings due to point level; no more than 1 chargeable accidents in
the past 12 months; no felony convictions). MVR must be dated within 30 days of
the Application for Employment.
- Must have only 1 valid Commercial Driver License.
- Must have good/verifiable employment history.
- Must be willing to comply with current Hours of Service
requirements, as well as all other Federal, State, and Local laws,
regulations, and directives governing the operation of Commercial
Motor Vehicles.
- Must pass the physical examination consistent with the mandate
of Part 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as
performed by the company specified physician.
- Must be physically capable of performing heavy manual labor
consistent with day-to-day operational requirements, including the
ability to successfully handle commodities weighing up to 75lbs.
- Must provide current copies of your Driver Qualifications Card
and Medical Examiners Certificate that have been issued by a
recognized motor carrier.
- Must be willing to ride 1 week with a Floyd & Beasley appointed
Driver Examiner.
- Must pass the Road Driving Test conducted by a Floyd & Beasley
appointed Driver Examiner.
- Must meet all Standards of Qualifications as set forth in Part
391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations Regarding
Qualifications of Drivers.
- Application for Employment must be completed in it's entirety.
- Authorization to Work Form (I-9) must be completed, including
providing 2 forms of positive identification.
- Must pass the Alcohol and Drug Testing Process as required by
Part 382 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Must be willing to legally run a minimum of 8,000 miles per
month.
- Must be willing to work under the direction of appropriate
operations personnel and follow instructions explicitly.
- Must have and agree to maintain a serviceable telephone.
- Must be willing to keep equipment clean and well maintained.
- Must be neat and clean personally. Long hair and beards
must be neatly trimmed.
- Must have and consistently demonstrate exceptional people
skills.
- Must be conversant in the English language, written and oral,
and be capable of legibly completing all paperwork, following
instructions, and performing satisfactorily as a professional
driver.
